PMU Training Progress: Prepare a Useful Review Record
Progress in permanent makeup training is easier to discuss when you can show the task, your attempt and the feedback you used. A learning record gives you and your tutor that context. Build it around assigned exercises and clear questions, rather than comparing yourself with promotional success stories or somebody else’s timetable.
Start With the Assigned Task
Record the lesson name and what you have been asked to submit. Keep the instructions with your attempt so the tutor can see which task you are working on. If the instructions are unclear, ask for clarification before completing more work.
Describe the exercise accurately: a drawing, an exercise on a practice material or another task assigned through the course. Avoid using a vague label such as “client result” for work that was completed during practice.
Choose one question to lead with. For a drawing task, you might ask which part of the spacing needs attention. That gives the tutor something specific to review while leaving room for them to identify other issues.
Make Images Easy to Compare
Follow the course submission instructions for views and file format. Include the complete exercise and any requested detail views. Use clear focus and consistent lighting so the feature you are asking about can be seen.
Keep the original photograph. Filters, retouching and tightly cropped images can hide the issue or make two attempts difficult to compare. If a photograph is unclear, take another view rather than editing the work to look more even.
Use simple filenames that connect each image to the date, exercise and attempt number. Keep private information out of images unless it is specifically required and you have been instructed how to share it through the appropriate channel.
Keep the Feedback With the Attempt
Save the tutor’s response next to the submitted work. Write a short note in your own words about what you understand the correction to mean. If you cannot explain it, ask a follow-up question with the original feedback included.
Do not replace the first attempt with the revised one. Keeping both lets you discuss what changed and whether the same problem remains. It also helps avoid asking the tutor to reconstruct the history from disconnected messages.
A positive comment on one feature should not be treated as approval of every part of the exercise. Check what remains to be completed before moving to the next assigned task.
Plan the Next Review
Set aside separate time for watching lessons, completing assigned work and reviewing feedback. A busy week might leave time for one of those tasks rather than all three. Keeping them distinct makes your plan more realistic.
Before resubmitting, check whether you supplied the views or information requested. Add a short explanation of the change you attempted. For example: “I repeated the paper exercise with guide points and would like feedback on the spacing.” This is an example study note, not a student testimonial.
If a correction still does not make sense, say where you are stuck. More repetitions without understanding the instruction can produce more files without answering the original question.
Use the Record for Learning First
Your working record can contain incomplete attempts, questions and revisions. It does not need to look like a finished public portfolio. Select public examples separately and describe what each image actually shows.
Keep another person’s work, comments and personal details private unless you have permission to share them. A useful private record should not become a public testimonial or case study automatically.
