SMP Machines and Pigments: A Training Purchase Checklist
Before buying scalp micropigmentation equipment, establish what your selected course and next assigned exercise require. A machine, cartridge and pigment should not be chosen independently because they look similar to items in a demonstration. This checklist helps you prepare a clear enquiry for your tutor and supplier.
Get the Course List Before Shopping
Ask for the current equipment list for the exact option you intend to buy. Separate items included in the price from items you must source yourself, and distinguish practice materials from anything intended for client procedures.
Do not assume that every option includes a machine, pigments or a complete workspace setup. Read the current SMP course page and ask Skinart to clarify any item that is not explicit before paying for extra equipment.
- Which exercise will I use this item for?
- Is a specific manufacturer or model required?
- What consumables and accessories are needed with it?
- What can wait until a later assigned task?
Confirm Compatibility in Writing
Record the machine’s exact model, power requirements and cartridge system. Ask the supplier which cartridges and accessories the manufacturer supports, then check that those choices match your tutor’s instructions.
An online listing that says “universal” is not enough to settle compatibility. Send the product reference or instruction sheet with your question rather than relying on a cropped photograph. Check what is included in the box, especially power equipment, cables and any model-specific parts.
This guide does not recommend a machine setting, needle configuration or pigment recipe. Those decisions belong with the relevant training and manufacturer instructions, not a general shopping checklist.
Keep Pigment Information With the Product
Ask for the manufacturer’s intended-use information, product identification and available safety documentation. Check the exact product name and batch information when it arrives, along with the dates, storage instructions and condition of the packaging.
Do not treat a marketing phrase such as “natural colour” or “professional quality” as an explanation of the product’s suitability. Ask your tutor about the precise product being proposed. A safety data sheet provides information; it does not by itself establish that a pigment is appropriate for your particular exercise or client.
Do not improvise mixing or dilution instructions from a blog. If the supplier’s advice and course instructions appear to conflict, stop and get clarification before using the product.
Compare the Supplier and the Ongoing Cost
Compare more than the initial bundle price. Check replacement consumable availability, delivery charges, warranty terms and how technical questions are handled. Keep the invoice and product references so you can identify an item later.
- Initial equipment and required accessories.
- Practice materials and repeat-use costs for assigned exercises.
- Replacement consumables supplied in suitable quantities.
- Delivery, returns and any warranty shipping charges.
- Storage and workspace items identified by your training.
A cheaper bundle can be poor value if its contents do not match the course or replacements are difficult to obtain. Conversely, buying every upgrade at once does not make an exercise more useful. Start with the confirmed requirements.
Send One Complete Enquiry
Prepare a short message with your course option, the exercise, the product links or model numbers and the specific uncertainty. For example: “Before I order, can you confirm whether this machine and cartridge system match the equipment required for my next assigned exercise, and which accessories I need?”
Save the answer with the product instructions. When equipment arrives, compare it with the confirmed order before opening or using consumables. Query missing identification, damaged packaging or an unexpected substitution.
