Online Bloodborne Pathogen Training

The course introduces bloodborne pathogens and the exposure risks relevant to body-art workplaces. Work through the recorded lessons and required knowledge assessment to check your understanding.

The standalone online BBP course covers transmission and prevention, personal protective equipment, sharps, waste, incident-response topics and record keeping.

BBP training is included with Skinart’s main body-art courses, whether you study online or take an available in-person option. If you are choosing a main course, compare the main course options before buying standalone BBP, so you do not purchase the same training twice. Choose the standalone course when you want BBP training on its own. Its certificate follows successful completion of the required learning and assessment.

Training evidence and workplace requirements

Training evidence and local permission to practise are separate matters. Confirm the current workplace and local requirements for your role, address and intended services. A BBP certificate is not a universal licence to carry out a procedure.

Bloodborne pathogens (BBP) are pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood; these and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) can cause disease.

BBP learning covers exposure risks and prevention, personal protective equipment, sharps, waste and incident-response topics. Keep course completion separate from the workplace-specific instructions and requirements that apply to your role.
