Begin with the course exercise and supplier documentation when buying microblading materials. A large kit or fashionable pigment range does not resolve a learning gap. Separate items needed for drawing and practice from those intended for professional procedures.

Start with the current course list

The online microblading course includes drawing assignments, tool-building lessons and practice-skin work. Ask which materials are required for your starting stage and whether equipment you already own is appropriate.

The published offer describes an optional kit and equipment being needed from Part 4 of staged study. Confirm the current contents and any separately purchased consumables before ordering.

Check supplier and pigment documentation

The New Zealand EPA’s tattoo and permanent-makeup guidance explains pigment-related responsibilities and documentation, including supplier details, labels and safety data sheets. Use the current guidance and obtain relevant information from your supplier.

Keep product names, batch details and supporting documents together. A broad description such as professional pigment does not identify the actual product or demonstrate that its documentation is complete.

Ask about the intended use

• Is the item intended for the method being taught?
• Which practice materials does the assignment require?
• What storage and expiry instructions apply?
• What documentation can the supplier provide?
• Which replacements or consumables are separate?

Follow the course and manufacturer’s instructions for the particular item. Do not infer suitable technique or settings from a shop photograph.

Build a staged equipment budget

List the materials needed now, items for later assignments and recurring replenishment. Compare the complete delivered cost and the clarity of documentation, rather than only the kit’s headline price.

Send uncertain items to the tutor before purchasing. Keep training materials and client-use stock clearly identified. Buying equipment is preparation for learning; it does not establish practical readiness or permission to offer a service.
