In-person or online piercing training: comparing support

Illustration for In-person or online piercing training: comparing support

Compare a local course and an online course through the support each actually provides. A venue or platform label does not explain assessment, feedback or practical supervision. Describe your experience and learning goal, then ask how each offer addresses them.

Understand the online learning process

The online body piercing course describes recorded lessons and silicone practice models. Ask how tasks are set, evidence is submitted and feedback leads to revisions.

Check access conditions and your ability to maintain regular study. Flexibility helps scheduling, but does not settle how every practical skill will be assessed.

Clarify the face-to-face offer

For the in-person piercing course, confirm the venue, current dates, trainer, group arrangements, preparation and procedures included. Ask what practical work is supervised and how it is assessed.

Find out which support continues afterwards. Do not assume either format automatically includes the other or every item of equipment.

Compare learning support beyond viewing

The APP’s education guidance places supervised experience and mentorship at the centre of piercing learning. It is professional guidance, not a New Zealand course approval list.

  • Who reviews my work?
  • How are further questions handled?
  • What additional practical support is needed?
  • What evidence documents completion?

Include the complete commitment

Compare course costs, practice supplies, equipment, travel, accommodation and time away from other commitments. Mark uncertain inclusions for clarification instead of assuming they are free.

Choose the arrangement you can participate in consistently. Ask how the syllabus and support fit your intended procedures and workplace, keeping course completion separate from local permission and professional readiness.
