Instructor
Gary is the founder and lead instructor of Skinart Academy, with over 23 years of experience in the tattoo, piercing, microblading, and permanent makeup (PMU) industries. He has trained hundreds of students globally, combining hands-on expertise with in-depth theoretical knowledge. Gary is passionate about empowering aspiring artists with world-class training and ongoing mentorship.

Accredited Tattoo Certificate
Upon completion, you will receive a Tattoo Training Certificate, documenting completion of your tattoo training.
Accredited BBP Certificate
You will also receive an Accredited Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Certificate, ensuring you are trained in hygiene, safety, and infection control for the industry.
Licensing Process Explained
Requirements depend on where you work and the procedures you offer. Contact the relevant municipal environmental health team to confirm the current registration or licensing process, premises and hygiene requirements, and training evidence before offering services.

HOW TO GET STARTED
Getting started with our in-person tattoo training follows the booking steps below. Here’s how it works:
- Confirm dates and venue first. Ask Skinart about your preferred area and month, the four-day schedule and practical model arrangements before paying a deposit or making travel plans.
- Choose your equipment option. Review Including Equipment and Excluding Equipment at the top of this page. If you plan to bring your own setup, confirm it is suitable for the training.
- Order and payment arrangements. Follow the order and payment instructions confirmed by Skinart. If you are using the R5,000 deposit arrangement, confirm the payment reference and online preparation access with the team first.
- Prepare before attending. Complete the online preparation your instructor asks you to do. Ask the team when your Academy access will be ready and what you should bring.
- Arrange the remaining balance. Pay the balance before or on the first training day, as agreed with Skinart for your booking.
